Welcome to the Centre for Social Work Supervision and Consultancy.

The Centre for Social Work Supervision and Consultancy aims to provide detailed information about supervision and the requirements involved for practitioners.  The centre also provides training and consultation on the implementation of supervisory practice.

We are committed to the development of reflective social work practice and supervision.

  • The Centre is engaged in teaching and training of supervision skills to managers and practitioners, all in the service of supporting high quality service delivery.
  • The Centre aims to make a significant contribution to the development of social work practice and to enhance the quality of supervision.
  • The Centre works within the tradition of the Tavistock Clinic which emphasizes the importance of relationship based practice.
  • Centre staff engage creatively with social care staff working across boundaries or in difficult situations.

We combine consultancy, analytical and training skills with practical help in devising solutions and in following through to implementation, and are particularly known for our capacity to work with issues that are under the surface.
